Got a request for the DI portion of the Hartke LH1000 bass amp. This is more or less that, but with a simplified power section. In the amp this runs off a bipolar 15 volt supply, but I would think it would also work with regular 9 volt supply. There's not an unbalanced output, but if you need to add that you can probably add it off pin 3 of the XLR. Schematic for reference.
Waht is active in and passive in and how to use this inputs if i have pedals befor this.
ReplyDeleteSorry for this question.
for active or pasive bass
DeleteIf you use pedal go for active input
Deleteok tnks for reply.
ReplyDeletehas someone tried this on 9V yet?
ReplyDeleteI made a modified layout based on this one, with a TL071 and a switch to choose between passive and active input (3k or 10k resistor), and works (maybe serves as verified?), but if I use the pin 3 of the XLR as unbalanced output, sounds a loud pop when I activate the box. I tried with different values of resistors to ground in the output, but with no luck. Anybody can help me with this?
ReplyDeleteHi, the tranfer image is in the library? i cant find it. thanks!

DeleteThe DI at the Hartke LH1000 sounds really good , i hope any of you guys can make this proyect work! It would be great!
ReplyDeleteIs there a cab sim in it? Can i make a big pedal with a preamp in it with xlr and headset output?
ReplyDeleteYou'd need to add cab sim circuitry. This is just a DI.
Deletewhich cab wud suit this? what are ur recommendation?
DeleteThanks you for your answer but i can't find a layout of a cab sim for bass. Do you have something about that?
ReplyDeleteCan i use this layout http://effectslayouts.blogspot.com/2017/08/simple-cabsim.html?m=1 with other cap values? Double values i mean?
Most schematics I've seen out there for cab sims are guitar specific. Though I'd suggest trying out the Run Off Groove Condor. It simulates a 4x10 cabinet. You can try messing with cap values, but I would try it stock first.
DeleteHello. I would like to wire a ground lift switch to this circuit. Where do I connect the switch to make it work?
ReplyDeleteSo if I already have a bass preamp, I must put another wire to the pcb output to the In on this layout?
ReplyDeleteYep.
DeleteWhere should I wire the ground lift switch? ??
DeleteTag it. I built this one up. Works great. I did add an unbalanced out off of pin 3. This is a great sounding DI. Clean and the active / passive works great with my basses. Thanks for a great layout and site,
ReplyDeleteMatt
Thanks for verifying!
Delete@alamondm how did u make un balance out?
DeleteBy connecting tip of 1/4 jack to xlr pin 3
And sleeve to ground?
Plz elaborate..
is passive input suppose to work even if this DI isnt powered on??
ReplyDeleteIt needs power to work unless you've added a bypass switch.
Deleteanyway i can add groundlift in this??
ReplyDeleteAdd an on/off switch between XLR lug 3 and the lug 3 pad.
