This is a library of perfboard and single-sided PCB effect layouts for guitar and bass. I'm not an electrical engineer by any stretch of the imagination, just a DIY'er who likes drawing layouts. It is meant for the hobbyist (so commercial use of any of these layout is not allowed without permission) and as a way to give back to the online DIY community.

MI Audio Blues Boy Deluxe

Stumbled across the schematic for this one over on FSB and it seemed interesting enough. Should be able to squeeze it into a 1590B.

MI Audio Tube Zone

Here's the Tube Zone distortion from MI Audio. Original has 6 knobs with the Presence pot internally as a trimmer, but I know how you guys like to fiddle with knobs, and the layout was turning into a 1590BB size anyway, so I made it external. Schematic available on FSB.

MI Audio Blues Pro

Here's a nice little overdrive circuit from MI Audio. This reflects the 2nd version of the Blues Pro, but if you want to make version 1, just jump pads 1 and 2 of each switch respectively. Should fit nicely in a 1590B.

MI Audio Boost 'n' Buff V1

The Boost 'n' Buff is a simple little booster that doubles as a buffer when it's turned off (so it's not a true bypass effect). You should be able to squeeze this one in a 1590A. The FSw pads are for the bypass footswitch. If you want to build the second version of the Boost 'n' Buff, add a B20k to the output as a volume control.

JHS Angry Charlie

I've gotten a few requests to redo the MI Audio Crunch Box with board mounted pots. How is that relevant to the Angry Charlie you ask? Well, it's the same circuit. JHS added a cap in parallel with the existing cap coming off the Presence control to ground which tames some of the highs. So if you want the Crunch Box, just leave that cap out.

MI Audio Crunch Box

Got several requests for this one. The MI Audio Crunch Box is a versatile distortion box, designed to sound like a cranked Marshall. It's very similar to the Marshall Guv'nor, but with a Rat style tone control. Production models have the Presence control as a trimmer internally, but it makes sense to me to have it externally.
