EchoPathetic

The EchoPathetic was designed by FSB member Allesz (designer of the Crap-Fi Delay and Dirty Punk Repeater). His previous designs use the PT2399 delay chip, but this one is full analog. There's an input buffer based around one side of TL072, then the signal goes onto the 3102 and 3205 chips. It's designed to be a buffered effect with the footswitch just turning on and off the delay section, but I figure more people will want to build it with true bypass. For more info, check out this thread over on FSB.

  1. thanx a lot for the effort .... i have a request .... protone body rot II great pedal for metal I've got it as a Veroboard but i need it as a printed circuit :)

  2. I've gotta order some 3205s yet, can anyone confirm for me how the noise level is? On FSB he describes a "faint whine" at longer repeats, in the recording I hear piercing high frequencies haha.. To each their own, I just wanna know exactly how pathetic it's going to be :)
Actually sounds really great with increased feedback and I'd enjoy this super simple approach to having the analogue delay I've been putting off building.

    1. It is does have highs not piercing but very bright yet still warm also there is a faint whine at longer repeats , this would be a great delay if that whine could be fixed maybe a clock trimmer like madbeans aquaboy???

  3. I just finished this one, it's very beautiful-sounding to my ears. IMO, nothing beats the lushness of these MN chip analog delays. This one is no exception. I like that it's not trying to be some pristine, crystal-clear delay. It's warm and just a tiny bit crappy, exactly what I like :)
Thanks for the awesome layout, storyboardist!

    2. Hi! I've tried to build this circuit, but all i have is a very very low volume sound with no delay at all. What i could possibly have done wrong? :-(

    3. Everything works exept delay effect =)) what can be wrong???

  4. LOVE this effect! so pure analog delay. I can highly recommend using a switch for different values of delay capacitors for more variety of delaytime. High pitch clock noise will of course appear but I used a passive varitone box after this to filter out just as much as needed. However, I would love to implement a depth knob to this so you can play around with hearing only the wet. anyone knows how to do that?

  7. Do you think that this will work with a mn3005?

  8. Are there any good replacements for the 3102?
