This is a library of perfboard and single-sided PCB effect layouts for guitar and bass. I'm not an electrical engineer by any stretch of the imagination, just a DIY'er who likes drawing layouts. It is meant for the hobbyist (so commercial use of any of these layout is not allowed without permission) and as a way to give back to the online DIY community.

MMR Fuzz

Here's another great design by Nocentelli for Fuzz Friday. It's a fairly simple 2-transistor design with a wide range of tones on tap. Pots are all board mounted and should fit in a 1590B just fine.

  2. Stuffed an etched board for this tonight.

That bass pot is a scosche awkward to solder on. It might (or might not) be easier to get that back middle leg if the flood ground wasn't right there. I started by swabbing all the pads and the legs with my flux pen. and when i got to that tricky one, I thought i'd just get a blob of solder onto the tip of the iron and reach it in there. Didn't work - just blobbed onto the ground. I did ultimately manage to get the soldering iron tip in from one side and the solder in from the other.

I used PN2222A for Q1 and Q2, should be substantially similar to the plain 2n2222.

I'll report back after wiring up the enclosure and testing. Thanks again.

  3. Works. I don't have time to give it a thorough test because i should be working on something else but tentatively you can consider it verified.

Would be nice if there were two more ground pads on the transfer layout. I drilled my own when i realized that i needed them.

  4. It works, verified. I using BC550 to all transistor.
