This is a library of perfboard and single-sided PCB effect layouts for guitar and bass. I'm not an electrical engineer by any stretch of the imagination, just a DIY'er who likes drawing layouts. It is meant for the hobbyist (so commercial use of any of these layout is not allowed without permission) and as a way to give back to the online DIY community.

Little Angel V4
Had a request for this one and ended up drawing it up in Eagle. Rick Holt (frequencycentral) over on DIYSB designed this chorus and this is the latest version. It differs from earlier version with 2 toggle switches: One changes the effect from chorus to more of a vibe, and the other changes the sound (Space/Warble). I've also uploaded this to OSHPark if anyone is want's a fabricated board of this one. Best fit will probably be in a 125B.

What size of pad do you use?
ReplyDeleteWhatever the default size is in Madbeans' library. 0.079-ish inches I think.
DeleteThanks!
DeleteDid it. Layout is correct, but i have some questions.
ReplyDelete1) When the effect is turned on, the input signal level is less than the bypass
2) Speed and depth change nonlinearly when the potentiometer is scrolled - noticeable changes in sound closer to the high position
3) chorus / vibrato switch in one of the positions cuts the input signsl level
P.S. I'm sorry, I do not speak English well.
where can i find the image transfer of this chorus?
ReplyDeleteIt's in the Misc. folder in the same pdf as the other Little Angel layouts.
Deletei built it yesterday and verified it working but there's a high popping noise coming from the foot switch.. any solution?
ReplyDeletecan i request for the japanese parametric equaliser and a diy irig stomp? please... thanks and godbless.. from the philippines
ReplyDeleteFirst: Thank you, kind Sir. Your work and website have greatly enriched my understanding of electronics and pedal builds. Hats off to you, keep it up dude!
ReplyDeleteSecond: Verified! Seems that the depth and speed knobs do very little -unity, and a lot +unity...perhaps some values could be better, but hell it works! Sounds quite good close to maxed out a la Scolfield on the vibrato setting.
Third: A request. Can you do the EHX Ravish Sitar?(!) I could literally die a happy man having built one. It strikes me as a challenge, hopefully it does for you as well.
Cheers, and thanks again!
First: Thanks so much!
DeleteSecond: Awesome! Thanks for verifying.
Third: If you can find a schematic I'll see what I can do. Though I suspect it's a digital effect...
I am planning to build this.. and also a few effects powered by pt2399 (i have a bunch) any tip on what caps or resistor to change for this to be a bass Chorus? thanks
ReplyDeleteHow to add led that will pulse to speed of this circuit?
ReplyDeleteGreat blog, thanks for all the wonderful circuits! As for this one, I have a question. Do you have a perfboard-style layout of the elements? I do not make my own PCBs yet, and that kind of layout would be very helpful, much easier to read for me :)
ReplyDeleteNice pedal, verified! but the Speed and depth change nonlinearly when the potentiometer is scrolled - noticeable changes in sound closer to the high position.
ReplyDeleteDid you find any solution Carlos? I've finished mine and I have realized that only when both of them are near the top values there is noticiable sound. I also made the R12 mod (10K)
DeleteThis pedal sounds awesome! for anyone who is having troubles with the depth. choose a lower value for R12.
ReplyDelete+1 The only parts I changed are the 1n4148 instead of the shottky diode and input cap 120n instead of 100n.
DeleteSo, for polarity protection is 1N4148?
Deletecan i ask you to make a perfboard layout for this..thank you so much.greetings from philippines..
ReplyDeleteMuchas gracias, muy buen efecto!
ReplyDeleteHe cambiado el valor de profundida de 500k a 250k, mas comodo control...
Exelente chorus

Thank you very much, very good effect!
I have changed the depth value from 500k to 250k, more comfortable control ...
Excellent chorus
Having problems with this one... much the same as first poster. Could be the pt chip i'll have to get a few more.
ReplyDeleteTried 4 more PT2399 and found one that actually works. Everything works well actually very well.. Thanks heaps.
ReplyDeletei dont understand what means the part near 1n5817 Diode 4 8???
ReplyDeletecould some one explain me?
