This is a library of perfboard and single-sided PCB effect layouts for guitar and bass. I'm not an electrical engineer by any stretch of the imagination, just a DIY'er who likes drawing layouts. It is meant for the hobbyist (so commercial use of any of these layout is not allowed without permission) and as a way to give back to the online DIY community.

Death by Audio Supersonic Fuzz Gun

Here's today's #FuzzFriday contribution: the Supersonic Fuzz Gun by DBA. This one can be a bit finicky, so don't try this one if it's your first time. Check out the thread on FreeStompboxes for help with any troubleshooting. I've laid it out for on board pots, and you could orient the board vertically (or at least at an angle) to fit in a 1590B or 125B like a Fuzz Factory.

  1. Id like to say verified. Works, but rolling the density and level all the way up eliminates the output. Maybe reverse pots on the or rewiring for lugs 1 to swap with lugs 3 on both?

  2. the pedal is 100% verified, the project may have problems with high gain transistors (2n5089, 2n5088) you have to play with low and medium gain transistors
(2a2222 or 2n3904) the transliterator darlignton must also be tested, the best results were obtained with hfe transducers from 40 to 120, but gain creates exaggerated oscillations and cuts of the signal that are not proper of the pedal, try the combination of tranasitores, more pleasant for your musical use

  3. The 10k resistor n the switch has to be 3k or a trimpot to find the sweet spot. Just read it on freestompboxes thread.

  4. The density control seems wrong to me, I put the 10nf cap on lug 1 and 100nf to lug 3. Log 2 goes to the base of the transistor.

Now you can dial between the two input caps and the response of the sustain changes through more or less band of frequencies..

  5. Good day, verified. Q1 МП38А hfe 100, Q2 2n2222A hfe 296, Q3 BC517 I chose this one to my taste, since I could not measure hfe, it is probably too high for my multimeter.

  6. Hello everyone, I created this pedal as I indicated above, I used 3.3 kΩ for gating, everything works, I like everything, but I noticed one nuance, I noticed that there is no sustain when you play everything Ok, just remove your left hand from the neck of the guitar the sound disappears. I have a question: should it be so? If not, maybe someone can give advice or share their experience? Thank you.
