I realized after posting the Meathead Deluxe I hadn't made a layout for the one-knob Meathead. Anyway, the Meathead is one of most well known 1-knob silicon Fuzz Face variants, thanks to the like of Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age, among other guitarist. Q2 is a BC182L, which has an ECB pinout instead of the more common EBC, so be careful of that.
havent been able to make this one work, got any link to the schematic ?
ReplyDeleteThink I used this schem

You using a BC182L for Q2 or something else? It's laid out for ECB instead of EBC there.
I built this on a pref board and could not get it worked, thanks dtgehring of your comments. Looks like it could be a problem from the Q2 layout, I will check it against the schematic later and will share my findings with you all. Hope I can get it worked after the checking. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteI re-checked my BC182L with my multimeter and found that the pinout order is in CBE (not same as your layout), I do not have a clue about this. Anyway, I twisted the pinouts and got it installed and the pedal works! Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteGlad you got it sorted out!
ReplyDeleteCan you make this layout with Q2 E-B-C? In my country i can't found BC182. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteSi funciona solo hay que fijarse en los pin del transistor lo hice con 2 npn
ReplyDeleteHi!
ReplyDeleteJust built that thing and it sounds really freat but..
Volume control acts like gain control in my case. Can anyone tell me where should I troubleshoot?
