This is a library of perfboard and single-sided PCB effect layouts for guitar and bass. I'm not an electrical engineer by any stretch of the imagination, just a DIY'er who likes drawing layouts. It is meant for the hobbyist (so commercial use of any of these layout is not allowed without permission) and as a way to give back to the online DIY community.
Here's Vertex's Trainwreck-style pedal. Essentially a modified Ibanez SD-9. BJT input buffer, opamp gain stage, followed by hard clipping, a fixed BMP-style tonestack, and JFET output stage. Schematic over on PedalPCB.
It sounded great right off the bat, but I'll be playing with it a little bit and see how it compares to online demos of the real pedal. My J201 is of questionable eBay origin and at some point I'll likely swap some parts out to see if it makes any difference.
Verified! This thing is amazing, so much clarity and sustain. I built the original circuit but wasnt quite satisfied so I tweaked mine a bit, used an LM833 after testing every dual opamp I had and changed the bias resistor to a 13k3 after breadboarding a B25k pot and turning it until it hit the "sweet spot" to my ears. Thanks for the layout!!
Wow, my dream overdrive pedal!!
ReplyDeleteLet's heat the solder
