Got a request for this one, and it's an interesting Big Muff variant. If you're a fan of Muse you're probably already familiar with this one. There's a germanium input stage followed by a fairly standard Big Muff circuit. Here's the schematic for reference. It would be a tight squeeze in a 1590B even if you wired the pots off board, but probably doable. Otherwise it should fit nicely in a 125B with top mounted jacks.
A nice little piece of Unobtanium here. Conveniently, I have a couple A100 dual-gang pots kicking around. I'll see if I can put this together shortly.
ReplyDeleteAs always... thanks for the layout!
I've designed my own PCB for Animato couple of months ago. Fits to 1590B with Simple FET Blender, but using madskillz. Assembled my build into Gainta B023 which is near analog for 1590BB. Used AC128 and AC176 instead of NTE102 and 103 which are hardly affordable now. Result is great
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of diodes do you use?
ReplyDelete1n4148 but you can try 3mm red LEDs
Deletehi thanks for the layout. iy works great. only need small correction. the middle left 10uf cap needs to be flipped. the negative lead should be connected to 33k resistor. cheers.
ReplyDeleteVerified! I Used MP38a, MP42b (q1-q2), resistor 4,7k SW2 should be 1 kom, resistor 100 k SW5 should be 39-50kom, if you want to fill different gains. Second pair diodes used 3mm red LEDs.
ReplyDeleteHuge gain & sustain. It's very pumped MUFF!!! Beautiful for guitar tone!I didn't try with a bass!
