Pink Jimi Photon - Dirty Bad!! Model One Driver

PinkJimiPhoton from over on FSB shared this circuit he came up with. It's a bit of a Fuzz Face variant, but sounds fantastic. His original schematic doesn't include a master volume control, but one is easily added (if you want to add to the offboard wiring mess... lol). Use an A100k pot and wire the board out to lug 3. Lug 1 to ground and lug 2 becomes the new out.

Here's Jimi demoing it.

  2. There's a long thread on DIYSB about this one. I built from the PCB above but it turns out the switches are not effective. I was able to get some interesting sounds using a hFE 50 Russian trans in Q2, but using a NPN Si Darlington in that spot wasn't very interesting. It's very sensitive to the bias but really it just sounds like a fuzz face.

  3. you probably built it wrong, or are running it wrong if all you get is a fuzzface out of it.
