This is a library of perfboard and single-sided PCB effect layouts for guitar and bass. I'm not an electrical engineer by any stretch of the imagination, just a DIY'er who likes drawing layouts. It is meant for the hobbyist (so commercial use of any of these layout is not allowed without permission) and as a way to give back to the online DIY community.

Crowther Audio Prunes & Custard

The Crowther Prunes & Custard is a unique distortion box good for both guitar and bass. It's a two-stage circuit, built around a TL072 dual-opamp. The first stage acts as a preamp, and the second stage generates the distortion, with harmonic overtones. I've laid this out for on board pots (long leg PCB-mount pots will probably work best mounted from the component side) and it should fit nicely in a 1590B enclosure. The 2 switches are SPST.

  2. Oooh! I have one of the very first P&C pedals ever made. What a cool, strange, truly unique effect. I'll have to give this one a go.

  3. thanks for laying this out! any idea how the pedal does the filter-sweeping?

  4. I have tried print image to make a PCB. the the prints is quite blury. I believe this because the image is low resolution ( 72dpi).
Does any one have a higher res image?

    1. Did you use the transfer pdf in the Transfer Image Library?

  5. What's everyone's thoughts on using 1N34As for the Diode section? Just curious =)

  6. Socket and see how it sounds. I'd think the clipping would be a little softer. Diodes are always fun to experiment with.
