Here's a pretty simple but effective bass preamp from EWS. It's a 3-band EQ being pushed by a MOSFET gain stage. Looks like EWS made a version for Xotic with the same name. Not a lot different between the two other than some value changes laid out in this schematic on FSB. I've laid it out for a 125B with top mounted jacks. It runs off an 18v supply so use your favorite charge pump if you want to include that in the pedal.
This is a library of perfboard and single-sided PCB effect layouts for guitar and bass. I'm not an electrical engineer by any stretch of the imagination, just a DIY'er who likes drawing layouts. It is meant for the hobbyist (so commercial use of any of these layout is not allowed without permission) and as a way to give back to the online DIY community.

Xotic BB Preamp
Got a request for the BB Preamp, but not the current version. The earlier version uses a dual-gang pot for the Level control and apparently more bass response. Like many of Xotic's offerings the BB owes a lot to the classic Tube Screamer. Schematic can be found here.

Xotic EP Booster
Here's another circuit from Xotic. Simple JFET boost with an output buffer borrowed from the Tube Screamer. Originals have 2SP1815 transistors with BCE pinout, but I've laid this out for the more common 2N5088 with CBE pinout. The originals also have the Bright and Fat switches internally as DIP switches. Having these externally should be much easier on the user, and it shouldn't be too hard to fit in a 1590A. Well, no harder than any other 1590A layout.

Xotic AC & RC Booster
Got a request for the RC. The AC is just a few value changes, so I drew them up to be built on the same board. Seems like a Tube Screamer with a 2-band EQ section to me.
