This is a library of perfboard and single-sided PCB effect layouts for guitar and bass. I'm not an electrical engineer by any stretch of the imagination, just a DIY'er who likes drawing layouts. It is meant for the hobbyist (so commercial use of any of these layout is not allowed without permission) and as a way to give back to the online DIY community.

Boss SD-1 SUPER OverDrive

Since the Zakk Wylde overdrive from last week was based on the SD-1, I figured I might as well go ahead and lay that circuit out as well. This doesn't have Boss switching so you can wire it up for true bypass. I've added some extra pads around D3 if you want to change that to a germanium (which seems to be a fairly common mod to this effect).

    You have removed the output buffer, this output buffer is used to smooth add a top high

      I tried B100k for level pot and changed 4k7 resistor for a 1k like MXRZakk Wylde... it worked better but i think I need more volume... still trying...

    The overdrive seems to work, but the drive control doesn't working at all. It sounds like at full drive but there is a weird sound at the end when you let the strings ringing, like when the batteries are dying.
    Any clue on what I could have done wrong?

      Fixed it. There was a bad connection in the line that connects the pot with de diodes and the ic. Works perfect now.

    At the input you have to invert positions betwen R10k and C47n or itcouldn't work. Thanks for the layout!!
