I've held off in laying this one out just for the name alone (it was banned from Reverb for this very reason), but the circuit is fairly interesting so it was time. It features a MOSFET buffer into a pretty standard opamp gain stage with LED clipping into a MOSFET gain stage. Schematic and discussion over on FSB. I took a few liberties with the power section simplify it and make it all fit in a 1590B.
This is a library of perfboard and single-sided PCB effect layouts for guitar and bass. I'm not an electrical engineer by any stretch of the imagination, just a DIY'er who likes drawing layouts. It is meant for the hobbyist (so commercial use of any of these layout is not allowed without permission) and as a way to give back to the online DIY community.
Why hold off? I want to build it based on name alone!
ReplyDeletesome humorless woman moaned until she got the company to stop making it and subsequently everyone kow-towed to the feminist cabal because apparently a pedal like this will stop "women and girls" wanting to play music even though all the women I know who play music aren't pathetic and also have a sense of humor.
DeleteLet's hold off on a debate over PC or whatever and keep commentary about the circuit. People have just as much right to be offended by the name as the rest of us have the right to think it's funny. Keep it chill and be kind.
Deleteno worries, just wanted to tell him the lore.
Deletecan i use tl072 or tl082?
ReplyDeleteYep. Your tone can vary a lil bit, but not that much.
Deletegreat, thank you very much, I will try it and then comment that it happens

ReplyDeleteTESTED, WORKED PERFECTLY, BASS AND TREBLE WELL PRESENT, BUT THE KEY MAKES VERY NOISE WHEN TURNED ON
ReplyDeleteI think either LED should be rotated
ReplyDeleteare you a "pu55y"? Scared of some little controversy?
ReplyDeleteShouldn't one of the LEDs be rotated?
ReplyDeleteYou are correct, yes. Forgot to rotate when I copied the part.
DeleteDoes it matter which led gets rotated? Or have you fixed that in the drawing?
DeleteHaven't had time to fix yet. Doesn't matter which one you rotate, but only rotate one.
DeleteAwesome! Thanks so much. I put the led's in sockets and originally had them both the same way and it was kind of farting out. I flipped one of the led's and it was incredible! WOW!!! Amazing sounding circuit!
DeleteBy the way, I pulled the LED's out and tested a bunch of different diodes in the sockets. Found that the el cheapo 1N270 sounds amazing in this circuit! Very Klon sounding!

ReplyDeleteAny substitute for CA3240?
Can I find the schematic for this somewhere?
ReplyDeleteAny substituta for ic 1?
ReplyDeleteAny dual opamp should work ok
DeleteThat's how you terminate an unused half of a dual op-amp
DeleteHi everyone
ReplyDeleteJust finished my pedal works great except for a load hiss,is there a solution for this.
Thanks
How can i print it to a board? I know the process but whats with its size. How can i match it for components
ReplyDeleteCheck out the Transfer Library tab (you need to be on desktop mode, not mobile if you're on your phone or a tablet)
DeletePin 7 and 6 are tied together but are connected to nothing. Why is the + input connected to anything then?
ReplyDeleteThat's how you terminate an unused half of a dual op-amp.
DeleteCan i replace BS170 with 2Sk30A?
