VooDoo Lab MicroVibe
Here's the Micro Vibe from VooDoo Lab—aka, welcome to jumper city. Always seems to happen with vibe circuits, but this one will fit in a 125B quite nicely. Pretty standard adpation of the old Univibe with speed and intensity controls. Set the trimmer to 250Ω (and be careful if you adjust it since there's no protection/limiting resistor). Schematic can be found here.

Thank you! Very useful layout. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteAbout the LDR diodes, which would be the best dark resistance value? There are multiple LDR versions and values in megaohms, which ones are the best for use in this circuit?
ReplyDeleteI have bought a set and lamp from Banzai and small bear the small bear ones are in a madbean clone of the univibe and I get nice lush phasing ,I havent used the banzai set yet so I cant comment,
DeleteI think it would be nice to add to the description that D1 isn't actually a diode, but a lamp
ReplyDeleteYou correct. 30ma lamp apparently. When I laid this out I think I just assumed it was an LED like the EQD Depths. I wonder if you could get a way with using an LED...
DeleteI dunno, but thats what I'm going to try when I build this.
Deletehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLo6EdFI31A i build but other layout of fsb with lamp and ldr, sound really good
ReplyDeleteDefinitely verified. Red LED’s work in the circuit. You should use TL062’s as TL072’s and 4558’s introduce ticking and other weird unpredictable noises. Fun circuit to build though.
ReplyDeleteThanks for verifying Skeet!
DeleteIs 100k dual gang pot linear or logarithmic?
ReplyDeleteB=linear

DeleteThank you...
ReplyDeleteanother question: ldrs are GL5549 or others? Thanks again
build this, with LRD 5539 [dark resis 6M above] & 5mm red led, got wrong used 500k trimmer in the begin, back to 500R the vibe is shown, thanks for the layout, and some shots sharing here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/yySGaZTG6Htpusdo7
ReplyDeleteCan anyone tell me why the 47K and 100k bias resistors for the lamp driver (Q3) are backwards from the Univibe? Is it because the Micro Vibe is 9V?
ReplyDeletehello, does ldr 5528 work? It gives me 1 Mohm in dark.
ReplyDeletebuilt this one with no problems...but it doesn't have the intensity of the real micro vibe. Does it have something to do with the MV using a real lamp bulb? BTW, i used a 330nF cause i currently ran out of 470nF...does that affect the intensity?
ReplyDeletehere's a demo vid...

Que LDR?
DeleteI also have same type of problem it doesnt have intensity like microvibe
DeleteWhere can buy lamp?
Im having problm with lfo. Sometime it works sometime it dont..
ReplyDeleteI tried with led its not working well ..
I even kept bigger ldr still not univibish
Is it because i used led.?
Do we need to match ldr?
ReplyDeleteUse any 12v small lamp that you can find at a hardware store and set the trimpot to o (no resistance), you´ll need all the 9v to keep the lamp working properly.
DeleteHello, I would like to be able to have a volume to adjust, with a trimpot, what resistance should I modify for this?
ReplyDeleteHello, great layout ! Is there a way to add "vibrato" mod ?
ReplyDeleteInstall a toggle switch to break the signal coming from r18 to kill the dry signal, that´llleave just the wet for a vibrato.
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of lamp are you supposed to use in this kind of project? Any tips on LDRs and lamp combinations?
ReplyDeletewhich Photocell model works best in this circuit?

If your building this one you should have a cover over the lamp/LDR particularly when testing it.
