Here's one from MXR you probably haven't heard of before. It was apart of their Commande line of plastic boxed effects from the late 80s. They aren't highly regarded because of the plastic, but the circuits were pretty well designed. The circuit in question today is a better design than the DynaComp, offering less distortion and more sustain. It does have a little less compression range than the DynaComp, but also less noise. (And really, who needs that much squish? haha) Couldn't find a demo of this one, but the schematic and discussion can be found here on FSB.

ReplyDeletegreat job
ReplyDeletei finisched it quite now , i used the pcb layout and after 1 second..... WOW
works perfectly!!! i substituted the 15 uf caps with 10uf, and instead of 240,and 24Kohm resistors i used 220 and 22k.
i think you can mark this as "verified"
many hanks for the great layout
bluesanderl
Awesome! Thanks for verifying!
ReplyDeleteBuilt it, works fine. Thanks for yet another good layout.
ReplyDeleteJust one point: The sustain pot stipulated,C500k, is connected in reverse on this layout. The schematic calls for A500k. So either use A500k and wire as shown here, or use C500k and swap 1&3.
Is this one?
