This is a library of perfboard and single-sided PCB effect layouts for guitar and bass. I'm not an electrical engineer by any stretch of the imagination, just a DIY'er who likes drawing layouts. It is meant for the hobbyist (so commercial use of any of these layout is not allowed without permission) and as a way to give back to the online DIY community.

Barber Silver LTD

Here's a cool variation of a buffer-less Tube Screamer with a BMP-style tone stack in the middle. There are also several trimmers that control the Presence, Bass, and Mids, and they'd be pretty easy to wire off board if you wanted the controls externally. If you want to go with the stock configuration, it should fit nicely in a 1590B. Here's the schematic for reference.

  1. This one is verified. Tried breadboarding this first and for some reason I could not get it to work. So I took the plunge and built it and it totally works. Not sure what went wrong on the breadboard. So far in my testing it seems setting the trimmers will impact the sweep of the tone control and kind of null it out a bit. But overall it's a really nice overdrive. Any desire to do a Direct Drive layout?

    1. Yeah, shoot me the schematic and I'll do it. I have issues with breadboard too. Thanks for verifying!

  2. Tried sending a direct message but I'm not sure if I did that right. I found 2 schematics for the direct drive.
