This is a library of perfboard and single-sided PCB effect layouts for guitar and bass. I'm not an electrical engineer by any stretch of the imagination, just a DIY'er who likes drawing layouts. It is meant for the hobbyist (so commercial use of any of these layout is not allowed without permission) and as a way to give back to the online DIY community.

Rebote Delay - 1590A

For those of you who didn't want 1590A week to end last month, here's another mini layout for you. It's an early iteration of the Rebote Delay that features a simple JFET stage at the input, followed by the PT2399 delay stage. Simple, yet effective. Note: mind the 3 electrolytic caps on their sides in the middle of the board. Here's the schematic for reference.

  2. couldn't the Mix knob be added simply putting a volume knob at the delay chip output?

    1. That would just be a volume knob which isn't really necessary with this. It a PT2399 delay like later Rebote iterations or the Deep Blue Delay, the mix knob essentially blends in clean tone with their input and output buffers. This one uses a jfet gain stage to keep the volume at unity. A mix control could be added to this circuit, but probably not without adding some sort of buffer. You could try adding a blend circuit, but that would be difficult with this PCB, not to mention difficult to cram into a 1590a.

    1. Coz I think it would be interesting to have two delay pedals in a box, just like what I did to my Em-drive and Paramount.

    1. You can use that blender, though it will be somewhat difficult with this layout.

    1. That's just kind of the nature of the PT2399. You can try different ones to see if there's improvement, but the longer the delay time, the more lo-fi it becomes.
