Run Off Groove Phozer V1

I came across the schematic for this while looking through RunOffGroove.com. It's an interesting mashup of Tim Escobedo's Idiot Wah and the LFO section from the EA Tremolo to produce a faux phaser effect, and apparently works very well at higher speeds.

  1. Tried this one, not workingg, only clean signal. Couldn't find a schematic for this either

    2. Just went back over the layout and it should work. The only thing my layout doesn't include from the schem is the LED for rate indication. That would go between the 10k from the voltage rail to the collector of Q4 if anyone wants to add it.

  2. Hi! In the schematic there's no diode from 9v (1N5817). What is its purpose? It should work without it, right? Greetings from Argentina

    1. That diode is for polarity protection. You can replace it with a jumper of you don't want that feature.

  4. I built this and i put a 1M pot in place of 1.5M wired on the Depth 3 and works. I used the vero layout from Parasit Studio. But mine sounds more like a tremolo.

  6. please can you do the phozer v2 without the manual sweep option part? just the LFO? I know I'm asking too much but ... please?????

  8. As shown, this doesnt appear to work. By placing the rate LED between the 10k resistor and q4 emitter, it works perfectly! Wacked out phaser-ish sounds. It's like an auto wah and a phaser had an ugly baby. I love it. Thanks!

    1. Replacing the top 1.5M resistor with a trim or external pot controls the smoothness of the cutoff. Phaser trem/chopper? Yes, please!?

  9. Hi all
I have just built one of this board. It works well without placing the LED as mentioned in the previous comment, but it has a strange behavior. I can hear the dry and wet sounds and I can change the balance with the depth pot. I only have a strange behavior because I always hear the tremolo oscillator very loud even if i put the depth pot all the way to left (only dry signal).
I have tried to remove the 22uF cap (center bottom of the board) and the effect stop to work ad I have only the dry signal, but I still hear the tremolo signal as a little background noise. Any advice?
