This is a library of perfboard and single-sided PCB effect layouts for guitar and bass. I'm not an electrical engineer by any stretch of the imagination, just a DIY'er who likes drawing layouts. It is meant for the hobbyist (so commercial use of any of these layout is not allowed without permission) and as a way to give back to the online DIY community.

EarthQuaker Devices White Light

The White Light is based on the MXR Distortion +/DOD 250 circuit, but with some modernization and improvements. There's an added tone control called "Weight" and the toggle switch adds compression by adding an extra germanium clipping stage. The board is laid out for solder-side mounted right angle PCB pots or you could use long leg right angle PCB pots and mount them from the component side of the board.

  2. Double checked the layout. There were conflicting schematics on FSB, but I updated the layout based off a verified vero layout from John K. Should be good to go now.

  5. Hi everyone!. According to the schematic found in fsb, there are a couple of errors in layout (perfboard not verfied). The 1k resistor should be connected: one side to 100 p and the other side to 4,7u (perf its fine tho), so i've cut the trace in the middle. And the 100p should go between pin 1 and 2 of LM833. For me it sound so good now. I Hope it helped (i'm sorry for my bad english). Greetings.

  6. After I cut the trace under the 1k, I was still getting noise, like oscillating. I moved the 100p to between pin one and two but it was still there. I removed the 100p and it went away. Works great now.

  7. Hello, how to bind spdt swhich? do we connect the 9v+ in the center of the spdt and the pins in the corners on the board?

  8. Pin 1 should be connected to the side of 1k going to the gain pot, not 4,7uF. I built it on perfboard and at first it was very noisy and oscillating when turning the gain pot. Now it works. Just cut the lead between pin 1 and 1k and connect it to the other side of 1k.
