This is a library of perfboard and single-sided PCB effect layouts for guitar and bass. I'm not an electrical engineer by any stretch of the imagination, just a DIY'er who likes drawing layouts. It is meant for the hobbyist (so commercial use of any of these layout is not allowed without permission) and as a way to give back to the online DIY community.

Lovepedal Black Magic

Haven't done a layout with board mounted pots in a while, so here's the Lovepedal Black Magic. It's a LM386 based distortion that tries to get achieve the "Brown Sound." I added polarity protection and put the LED resistor on the board as well.

    1. Sure. Just find something close. 3.3nF or 5.6nF or put two 10nF caps in series to create a 5nF cap.

    1. You can use a 1k pot and then wire a 1k resistor from lug 1 to lug 3, which will make it a 500Ω pot.

  4. Anyway i can add tone knob in this circuit???

And if i use all ceramic capacitor instead of film capacitor will there be any problem??? Or diffrent ?

    1. IF you want a tone control, build the Lovepedal Purple Plexi 800. Essentially the same circuit with a tone control. Shouldn't be any difference with ceramic caps.

  5. Hello.

What program did you use to design the pcb?
