This is a library of perfboard and single-sided PCB effect layouts for guitar and bass. I'm not an electrical engineer by any stretch of the imagination, just a DIY'er who likes drawing layouts. It is meant for the hobbyist (so commercial use of any of these layout is not allowed without permission) and as a way to give back to the online DIY community.
Hi there could you recommend an equivalent diode for the 1N34A (if such a thing exists)? I'm itching to build this and that is the only component that I can't get my hands on.
Those are being used as clipping diodes, so almost anything will work. You can try other germaniums (Russian D9 diodes are what I use for germanium diodes these days), or others like 1N4148, red LEDs... they will alter the tone a bit, but it will still work. Use sockets and try out different diodes and see what sounds best to you.
It´s possible someday can made the Thrash Master FX59 please??? thnx for all layouts, is the best page!!!
ReplyDeletedoes anyone know a good website to get parts from? I am finding trouble finding 1nf and 100nf polyester mylar capacitors
ReplyDeleteIf you're after poly mylar caps, check out Tayda Electronics. For higher quality parts I suggest Arrow or Mouser.
DeleteCan we use mpas13 instead of mpsa18?
ReplyDeleteThe MPSA13 is too high hFE being a darlington transistor. 2N5088, 2N5089, BC549C or even a higher gain 2N3904 would be better substitutions.

DeleteOh wow I have so much to learn! Thanks so much for your help!
DeleteI built this on perfboard and everything works like it should. Sounds good, too. Thanks for this and all the other great layouts.
