BearFoot FX Model G

Today's layout is the Model G from Bjorn. It's a variation of the Honey Bee and aims to replicate the sounds of some classic Gibson amps from the 50s and 60s. Board mounted pots and should be an easy fit in a 1590B. Schematic over on FSB.

  1. Sure you can try it. Who knows how it will sound! You can try any op amp. Let your ears tell you. One thing I’ve noticed about bjf designs is, he is very specific about parts. He chooses very carefully to get a specific sound.

  7. @Effects Layouts, I noticed that bearfoot uses CA3130. What do you think would be a good replacement?

    1. NE5534 would work. Other single opamps would probably work as well, just socket the chip.

    2. The only single opamp I have is TL071, is that okay?

    3. It will probably be fine. Use a socket and probably remove the 100p cap between pins 1 and 8. Won't be necessary with an 071.

  8. There is an error in footprints. The footprint under 150k resistor should not be connected.
