Wampler Sovereign

Here's another Wampler take on the JFET mu-amp design. This one adds a op amp stage at the output and features a Big Muff-style tone stack. This one's pretty versatile and a great sounding distortion. Ian sent me his perf layout of this one and I refined it a bit for what you see below, so a special thanks to him. Schematic can be found over on FSB.

  1. you are ... the stomp boxes prophet ``!!

  2. You can mark it verified! The only thing I changed was the Mids pot, I connected lugs 1 and 2 to the 33nf cap and lug 3 to ground. It should work either way though.

  3. I etched the pcb a while ago and just yesterday i populated the pcb. At first it does not fired up and after debugging i found our that the Gate on the Q2 is not connected on the pcb side. Now its working good.

  4. Any schematic and parts list for this one?

  5. Hi David, how are you ?
What job do the 50k trimmer exactly ?
How i have to adjust it ?

    1. It's biasing Q5. Set it so you get about 4.5v on the drain and then adjust by ear if necessary.

  6. ha ok i understand now why i have this sound like very compressed !!! :)
Ok thanks for always respond us ...

  7. is there a schematic to this? that would be nice, thanks!
