This is a library of perfboard and single-sided PCB effect layouts for guitar and bass. I'm not an electrical engineer by any stretch of the imagination, just a DIY'er who likes drawing layouts. It is meant for the hobbyist (so commercial use of any of these layout is not allowed without permission) and as a way to give back to the online DIY community.

Catalinbread Hyperpak

Here's an older design from Catalinbread (now discontinued). The Hyperpak is based around a CD4007UBE to generate a wide array of tones. Be sure to use the unbuffered version of 4007. Shouldn't be too hard to fit into a 1590a like the originals.

    4. The values of the components are all in the layout, so I don't have a list, but you should be able to make one pretty easily. The circuit's not that big. Since the supply voltage of this circuit is 9v, anything rated above that should be ok. Most film or ceramic caps I use are rated at 100v I think. And for the electrolytic caps I use 35v or 50v. The 4001 part is a diode (1N4001). Here it's for polarity protection.

    1. It's the circuit out. Typically it goes to the footswitch. See the General Layout Notes for offboard wiring info.

  5. Yeah, I thought it! But i couldn´t find de "out" at the circuit! And good, I read the General Layout Notes. I connect my 3PDTs exactely like you! I never confused anymore. And I got a great tip there, about the wireless ground in the metalic enclosures! I thought about it but never tryied. I´m a noob in the eletronics tissues yet. I´m learning about it! Look, i never wrote here, but i´m using a lot your blog. It´s really amazing! Me and my friends from Brazil are using this handmade pedals now! It´s so great! :D

  6. Gosh, i tried to fix it... I connected the Vol. 2 to the 3PDT "Out" and nothing happens! :(
I couldn´t find the "out" of the circuit. All of the other projects worked pretty nice!

  7. you can tag this one!
awesome, simple overdrive with a lot of punch but i find it didn't produce enough of high end (verry misleading video) so i've lowered the cap at the output to 2.2µ and that gave me what i needed. just that tad more highs :p
if i put it in front of my fenrir, the fenrir roars like hell so i'm keeping this one on the board ;)
    thnx for the project!
