I haven't made a detailed project in a while, so for Fuzz Friday here's the One-Knobber. It's based on the old Dr. Tony Balls stripboard layout that covered the ColorSound One-Knob, D*A*M Meathead and Dark Meathead, and a one-knob adaptation of the '66 Vox ToneBender, and I've added the Ritual fuzz by Black Arts Toneworks.
This is a library of perfboard and single-sided PCB effect layouts for guitar and bass. I'm not an electrical engineer by any stretch of the imagination, just a DIY'er who likes drawing layouts. It is meant for the hobbyist (so commercial use of any of these layout is not allowed without permission) and as a way to give back to the online DIY community.
I HAVE DIFICULTY TO PRINT THE PDF PROJECT, MANY ERRORS ACUSSED BY THE PRINTER, BUT THIS PROJECT IS AWESOME, BECAUSE IT CAN SHOW US THE WAYS THAT WE CAN IMPROVE THE FUZZ PROJECT OR CREATE A NEW VARIATION OF THAT ... THANKS FOR ALL...
ReplyDeleteBrilliant project. Thanks! I made a pcb totally covered in sockets to noodle around with. Great fun!
ReplyDeletewhere could i add a fuzz control?
ReplyDeleteYou'd replace R6 with a 1 or 2k pot and move C4 across lug 2 and 1 (negative side of the cap going to lug one which is going to ground). Honestly, you're probably better off building something like the Jack DeVille Vintage 2-knob Fuzz where the layout already has the fuzz control.
DeleteMany many thanks. I love this place. i was telling my girlfriend its one of the nicest communities on the internets.
DeleteI have a problem, when the switch is on, the sound does not come out and even sound "hummmmmmmmmmm" can anyone help?

ReplyDeletein the file PDP, Omit - does this mean that this component should be skipped / replaced with a jumper?
Skip it. No jumper
DeleteI don't know where to find the values of all the components sir.
ReplyDeleteDid you look at the project pdf? Link right below the layout image.
DeleteGathered on the layout of the Ritual Fuzz, but it was not working. Later, I checked the layout with the scheme and found that the pinout is 2n2222 inverse, they need to be rotated 180 degrees. Good luck in the assembly :)
ReplyDeleteCan i change some caps to change the sound AND use in a bass? Thanks!!!
ReplyDeleteOf course. Experiment, go nuts, have fun!
DeleteHi everyone, I built the pedal with colorsound components. When the volume pot reaches about halfway, however, the sound becomes completely clean and there is no longer any distortion.
ReplyDeleteDo you have any idea why?
Thank you all.
