This is a library of perfboard and single-sided PCB effect layouts for guitar and bass. I'm not an electrical engineer by any stretch of the imagination, just a DIY'er who likes drawing layouts. It is meant for the hobbyist (so commercial use of any of these layout is not allowed without permission) and as a way to give back to the online DIY community.

Catalinbread Karma Suture

Happy Fuzz Friday everyone! This one recently got traced on the Aion blog (so go check out the full write up over there for more info and schematics). The Karma Suture is based on the Harmonic Percolator and has come in both germanium and silicon versions. The difference between the two are just a couple value changes, so you can build either version on the same board. Value differences are outlined below.

I like DIYLC as well, but i don’t have Photoshop to do the groundplane. I am still searching for an alternative. How do you do yours?

    2. PioneerSx... you could try Gimp. It's a free, open source Photoshop alternative.

  5. Etched PCB silicon version built and verified. Used a BC560C as Q1 and a 2N2222 as Q2. Input and output lug numberings are inverted though. Other than that great job as always! :)

  11. If I make the Silicon version and use a 1uF for C3 - what type capacitor would you recommend? (Ceramic/Film/Box) or an Electrolytic (and, if so, on which side would the negative lead be)?

  12. Hello, I need help, I want to build a germanium version of this pedal, but there is one problem, the R6. English is not my native language, so sometimes there are some problems with the terms, R6-jumper, how to get it right? I'm sorry that this question is stupid, I will be grateful for your help, have a nice day.

    1. A jumper is just using a piece of wire to connect the pads of R6. I usually use a cut off piece from a resistor or capacitor.
