This is a library of perfboard and single-sided PCB effect layouts for guitar and bass. I'm not an electrical engineer by any stretch of the imagination, just a DIY'er who likes drawing layouts. It is meant for the hobbyist (so commercial use of any of these layout is not allowed without permission) and as a way to give back to the online DIY community.

here are those 2N2484 trannies again.... at Mouser for $1.80USD each for 10 or more....
ReplyDelete7031 replacement? I didn't find an accurate datasheet to check.
ReplyDeleteI would think a TL071 would suffice - the 7031 is a single op-amp. The data sheet can be found here: https://www.njr.com/semicon/products/NJU7031.html Mouser carries them for about $1.78 per
ReplyDeleteThe 071 might work, but the 7031 is CMOS based, where as the 071 is JFET based. YMMV
DeleteI gotta say... would it not be better to have the trimmer controls on the outside... I really dont like the idea of tonal controls etc inside the box.
ReplyDeleteYou can always wire the trimmers off board if you want them externally.
DeleteThe CD4049 pins are wrong, look at the schematic and datasheet. The inputs of second three inverters are pins 9,11,14, not 10,12,15.
ReplyDeleteGood catch. Fixed.
DeleteThere's still a problem with the CD4049. I think pins 15 and 16 are reversed. I was able to get my build working by cutting the socket pin for 16 and making a solder bridge from pin 15 to the other pad.
ReplyDeleteRight now, I'm using 2N5088's for Q2/Q3 and a 2N7000 for Q1. I'll swap in some PN2484's ( silicon equivalent to 2N2484 ) Also using a NJR7031 from Mouser. Not sure what LED's to use. I'll experiment.
Thanks for catching that. Many brain farts apparently happened when I worked on this one. lol Fixed now. Should be good.
