This is a library of perfboard and single-sided PCB effect layouts for guitar and bass. I'm not an electrical engineer by any stretch of the imagination, just a DIY'er who likes drawing layouts. It is meant for the hobbyist (so commercial use of any of these layout is not allowed without permission) and as a way to give back to the online DIY community.

Baja AFD

Here's a unique overdrive design by Bajaman over on FSB. You can build it with either a buffered bypass or true bypass. If using true bypass, omit the 1k resistor below the lower TL062, and the 1uF cap and 100k resistor connected to the BP Out pad. To wire for buffered bypass, connect the In pad to the input jack, the FX Out pad to lug 1 of the footswitch, lug 2 to the output jack, and the BP Out pad to lug 3. More info and schematic over on the FSB thread. Thanks to 287m for sharing his layout.

Also, the next episode of the DIYLC Tutorial is up on YouTube. Almost have a completed layout!

  1. Thanks for the layout! I have been trying to figure out DIYLC to make PCB's of Baja's layouts...Mine look like Spaghetti. Any chance I can get ahold of the diylc file for this project?

  4. Sorry to hijack this post but can we get the FuzzHugger DoomBloom layout fixed? Based on the comments it looks like it’s still not fixed.

  7. Howdy, just curious if you saw that Baja revised this design (as Baja AFD MkII) and claims the mkII version gives final results that are much closer to the real deal amp. Any chance you'd consider posting the MKII design here as well? Thanks as always for all the hard work put into this site, it is a treasure trove for us tinkerers :)

  8. Anyone else built this one yet? I built it and am getting very low output...Haven't figured out why yet...just wondering if anyone has experienced the same issue with this one.

  10. one more project completed successfully !!!
    it works perfectly!!!
one tip is to add a tone control after it, but the way it's been made is perfect for me.
Thanks again for the beautiful work and the wonderful layouts !!!
