Earthquaker Devices Westwood

For the blog's 600th layout, here's a new one that didn't take long to get traced. Here's EQD's newest offering, the Westwood Translucent Drive Manipulator. Great for pushing your amp and giving a near clean boost. It features an active 2-band EQ and sounds great on bass as well as guitar.

  6. For some reason gain pot doesn't do anything for me. The pedal works, and it sounds awesome, but gain seems to be maxed no, matter where gain pot is at. Any hints/pointers where to start looking at?

    1. Sounds like you might have a short or a bad pot...

    1. Probably film. One of the grey box film caps from Tayda will fit perfectly in there.

  10. I've got the same problem! Seems like the treble pot works only at the second half! Can't hear any treble cut! Does anyone has a solution?

    1. Any high gain silcon NPNs should be fine. Just compare datasheets.

  13. What's the best way to lower the range of the drive control? Would I just lower the value of the pot? I like the minimum drive but only ever go up to about 50% of the sweep of the pot. Does the 4.7K resistor on lug 1 set the minimum drive? Thank you.

    1. Minimun drive is set by that 4.7k resistor. Try using a A250k or A500k pot to lower the max gain.
