Wanted to redo my old layout with board mounted pots. I've laid it out with the Presence control externally and the diodes on a DIP switch, though you could easily wire up an external toggle if you want. Should fit nicely in a 1590B. If you want the King of Tone, just but 2 in one box.

Hello, first of all congratulations for your great work. The question I have is that the prince of tone has a swicht dpdt for the OD, BOOST and DIST mode. Can this selector be added in some way? The other question is: Can the turbo and low-mid mods be added? Thanks in advance. regards
Haven't heard of the turbo and low-mid mids for this circuit. And as for the switch on newer versions of the Prince of Tone, I don't know for sure what it's doing other than altering the gain, which could be implemented a couple different ways. One way that comes to mind would be replacing the 10k resistor that goes from pin 2 of the IC to lug 1 of the Gain pot with with 3 different values on a switch (1k, 10k, 100k perhaps?). You could also try the same thing with the 220k resistor right above the IC that goes between pins 6 and 7 (try 100k, 220k, and 470k?). Hope that all makes sense.
Dip switches does what should the dpdt 'cause you can turn on and off soft (OD) and hard (DIST) clipping with them. Switch 1 seems to be hard and 2 seems to be soft.

You can do it with a DPDT on/off/on switch. Wire the left pin of the first DIP switch to lug 1 of the DPDT, and the right pin to lug 2. Then wire the left pin of the second DIP switch to lug 5 and the right pin to lug 6.
I built this about a month ago and it sounds great. I added a switchable charge pump - sounds better with more voltage for those who haven't tried it!
I got a genuine PoT today and the DIY version actually sounds better to me. Something kind of interesting is the genuine one has dip switches AND an external switch. Not sure what's going on there but it would be cool to figure out eventually. For the clone I made I followed the comment about using a single DPDT switch instead of the dip switches.

Yes. Though the King of Tone has the Presence pot as a trimmer internally.
