Rockett 10 Ton Hammer

This appears to be Rockett's take on the Marshall Guv'nor, but with a few modifications. The tone control of the Guv'nor has been replaced with a Baxandall EQ tone stack and the output is boosted with a JFET gain stage (much like Rockett Flex Drive). Should fit nicely in a 1590B with board mounted pots.

  3. Anyone else having troubles with this one? I built it up and when I power it up I get a hum and the light on my power supply goes dark like there is some sort of voltage inversion. I've been debugging but haven't found what the problem could be quite yet.

    1. Yup here too, built the pedal, checked the paths, voltages and it seems that it doesn't work, got no sound from it even compared the PCB to the schematic in freestompboxes forums.

    2. Ok, so it's not just me. Yeah I tired comparing it too. Can't seem to figure out what is wrong. I just breadboarded it based off the schematic and that worked. Wasn't really all that blown away with it. But I'd like to figure out what went wrong with the board.

  4. As a side note, I changed the J202 for the 2N5457 (not the best replacement, but it's supposed to work as a drop-in replacement).

I've checked the version of this board compared to what the latest fixed schematics said (10k from bass pot to ground instead of V+/2). And it has those changes.

Still can't figure out the issue

  5. I built this one a few weeks ago. Verified.

  6. I get oscillation on mine unless I turn the trimmer down, then I'm below unity with the vol pot maxed. tried 2N5457, J201 and 2SK30 and its the same for all 3, though the J201 sounds best. not sure if maybe its because I have it hooked to my test rig and not boxed..? would love to have this one work, it sounds amazing!

    1. Fixed my oscillation issue, I changed the 100pF off of pin 2 for a 220pF. Was able to bias the J201 to 4.5v with no issue. I also changed the 2 4001 for red LEDs after messing around with socketing different diodes to my liking and changed the 10nF on the treble to 3N3. I found that I needed to have it almost dimed and the bass at noon to not sound muddy, though that's just me. There's plenty of room on the bass knob to boost the lows.

    2. And have also used an LM412 after socketing different op amps

    3. Saludos amigos. Una pregunta. La oscilación es un ruido como de falta de masa??

  7. The bass potentiometer, is acting as level, this is normal?

  8. Worked,no oscillations, controls work fine, but completely without treble, no bright. Different from the youtube reviews.
Is there any way to improve?
