This is a library of perfboard and single-sided PCB effect layouts for guitar and bass. I'm not an electrical engineer by any stretch of the imagination, just a DIY'er who likes drawing layouts. It is meant for the hobbyist (so commercial use of any of these layout is not allowed without permission) and as a way to give back to the online DIY community.

Casper Electronics EchoBender

Today marks the one year anniversary of this blog. Thanks to everyone for your comments, verifying layouts, and just generally being really cool people. To celebrate, I give you a really cool and crazy delay, the Casper Electronics EchoBender. The EchoBender is a development of/modified Deep Blue Delay. I couldn't quite get it to fit with on-board pots in anything smaller than a 1590BB, but the original is in a giant wedge enclosure, so I guess it's still an improvement. If you feel like wiring 6 pots off-board, you should be able to fit it in a 125B or even a 1590B. From Casper:

The Echo Bender is an echo, distortion and experimental, stand alone noise generator.
It’s capable of creating smooth, clean echos as well as delving deep into screeching, noisy realms seldom heard from a traditional echo pedal.

  6. Has anyone donde this one? I've build it but it gives clean sound without delay or just dirty sound still without delay. I've checked he schem at http://cdn.makezine.com/make/blogs/blog.makezine.com/upload/2009/10/build_an_experimental_echo_pedal/Echobenderrev02.jpg and there are some different values, the first cap at 9 volt input is 47uF, and the cap going to WET2 is uF, also the schem calls for 7805 and in this layout it's a 78L05. I don't have knowledge of electronics but those kind of things draw my attention. By the way, I would like to congratulate you for the amazing work you're doing, it really helps clarify the electronic world. Sorry for the bad english

  11. does this layout account for switching feedback 2 and 3, or has it been corrected for that? i'd like to build it with board mounted pots.

    2. This current layout does not seem to account for the need to switch lugs 2&3 on the feedback pot
      I built it with them switched and it works just fine.
