Here's Run Off Groove's take on the Dr. Q by JD Sleep with mods and improvements suggested by Mark Hammer and Jack Orman. More info, schematic and sound clips here.
Working! lm358, 2n4401, 1n4007 everything else the same. My IC is the same samsung showed in the home-wrecker page (rescued from an old vcr). More wah than envelope , my friend love it. AIC "man in the box" and 311 "amber" sound great. As the tracks are surrounded by ground, I accidentally bridged one transistor's leg to ground.I used my multimeter (continuity) with one lead to ground and used the other one to test every track (not ground of course) and it was a small solder drop! Thank so much for this layout
Is it normal that my D1 is always on when the circuit is powered? D2 lights up when playing, similar to an LED clipping section. Using an LM358P. Thanks in advance!
I did this circuit exactly as it is shown here but instead of the envelope effect i get noise, does somebody knows why this happens or how can i fix it? (the only difference is that i used ceramic caps in the 4.7nf and 1nf caps)
I've just built this circuit and it (surprisingly) worked on the first try! I'm getting a small volume drop when it's on though. What can I change to solve this? I believe it will be ok if I change the value of some component since the effect is working. I did it with a 100nF input cap instead of 10nF because I'm going to use it on bass. Could that be the problem? Thank you! :)
I have a little trick but it makes big effect, put a compressor like maxon compressor in front of pedal chain, compressor-wah filter- distortion and etc., then... Taa daa... Its perfect 👌
Verified! Pretty cool little quacker!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Peter!
DeletePreety cool cirquit! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteBarang kali ada layout whammy?
ReplyDeleteWorking! With bass too! Thanks!

Will LM358P below work in this pedal?

Thanks in advance!
Yeah, should be ok

Using an LM358P.
Thanks in advance!
I haven't built it, but I think D1 should always been on.
DeleteThe 47k resistor at the in, is the pulldown resistor?
ReplyDeleteIt is.

ReplyDeletenothing happens if I replace the 100uf capacitor with a 150uf one?
ReplyDeleteplease reply, thank you
mi ingles es muy malo
That's just the power filter cap, so 150 will be fine
Deletemuchas gracias :D

hi bruno, replace the resistor between legs 1 and 2 of the ic for something bigger like 560k or 1m or with a pot
DeleteThank you for your help! I will try that :)

ReplyDeleteCould another dual opamp like 4558 or TL072 be used instead LM358? same pinout I think...
ReplyDeleteThank you
Yeah that's probably fine.
