Got a request for this one and thought it'd be a good Fuzz Friday layout. It's got a fair amount of treble and grit on tap and should fit pretty easily in a 1590a. Schematic here.
Verified. Just finished it up. Interested to see what other folks find with this one - mine is just slightly under unity gain when activated, haven't had time yet to debug.
build it, breadboarding with 2n2222 metal can, hfe176 on Q1 and Q2 152, bias q2 collector with 10k trimmer set around 8k [2.1v] to get sweet spot, input cap used 10nf for fatty granule gain on my set, ready to box up this little beast, thanks for the layout~
Hi there, finally, I Combined my Mutantes fuzz with the Craig Anderton Super Tone Control, short clips here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QX5g1IVQUuM
Verified. I changed some values; 5k by 5k1, 22k by 1k5 to have the original signal volume in the middle of the potentiometer, and I used 2N4401, both with hFE of 289. A great sound in a small 1590a box!

ReplyDeleteDang, Peter... you are a pedal building mo-sheen!
DeleteSub the 22k for a 25k trimmer and adjust to taste. Fixed the unity gain...and then some...
ReplyDeleteThanks Cole!
DeleteNo problem...You could use a 20k or anything close for that matter. 25k is just what i had laying around.

Volume 2 = the middle lug of the volume pot. That's the point of the circuit output.
