Got a request for this one. It's an interesting variation of the Tube Screamer circuit, but with a lot of changes and modifications. There's an optional boost switch you can include if you like that's not apart of the original. If you don't want to include it, just don't populate the 270Ω resistor and 2.2uF connected to the Boost Switch 1 pad. Here's the schematic for reference.
Would love to see the noble mods in more detail. Dont suppose you have a higher rez version of the schematic anywhere? Cant read the values on this one.
Any voltages for the project ? Im vetting 2v instead of 9v the minute i put in a transistor or an ic, dont matter which one, i might be using an older version cause i etched this in 1.9.2016
Verified, but the solder-side and component-side images are not reversed from each other.
I socketed the 100nF cap on the left side of the board. I tried a 27nF there, which I liked better for guitar, and a 220nF, which I liked better for bass.
I built it on perfboard and it works and sounds very good. According to the schematic the 2nF capacitor between 5k1 and 22k should be an 82nF. I changed that value and built it without the boost switch. As JDT mentioned the solder side image is not reversed, and is a bit different from the component side image, too. Yes, verified!
Awesome!Thanks for posting!

I think PostImage ate the resolution. Re-uploaded and it should be better now.
DeleteWow! Thats perfect.
DeleteThanks!
Good posting.
ReplyDeleteIs possible to you provide some schematics for us? I think that it could help me to print out these layouts.
Thank you and good job.
Hey it's in the description :)
DeleteI'm Sorry, I was not very specific. I mean the file, to open in my PC.
DeleteThanks.
I don't share my project files, but there is a scaled PDF of this and all layouts in the Transfer Image Library tab at the top of the page.
DeleteMuito bom, gosto muito desse blog!
ReplyDeleteMuito obrigado por todas as postagens e parabéns pelo trabalho.
No V+ connection to IC2 in the transfer image and layout.
ReplyDeleteFixed that along with a couple other errors. Should be good to go now. Thanks to greenskull over on FSB for finding them.
DeleteWich cap to change for less bass? And how much would need to be changed to get a "true bypass"?
ReplyDeletePut a 50k revers log pot between the 1.5k resistor and the 2.2uF cap to reduce your bass, or a single resistor of your chosen level of reduction.

Could you kindly confirm if this layout is verified?

What kind of switch do i need for the boost?
