ProTone Body Rot II

Here's the ProTone Body Rot II, a heavy distortion pedal built around a 386 chip. It's very similar to the Krank Distortus Maximus, and many other 386-based distortions.

  5. Thanks for your great job ,but i find a mistake, 100R resistor and 47Mf cap is going to ground from IC pins 1 and 8,not from pin 5 (output).

  6. Hi, Can I use b5k for mids? do you think is a problem?

    1. I'd use the 5k pot with a 3.3k resistor in parallel. That'll get the pot's value down to 2k.

    2. bro, I dont have 3.3k resistor, I have 3k. is good? work better with the 3.3k? please, can you explain me how put the resistor in parallel with the pot?.

    3. A 3k will work fine. Just solder in the resistor from lug 1 to lug 3 of the pot. Then google parallel resistance to see why this works ;)

  9. first let me say thank you for all the work you put into this site. since discovering the diy effect circuitry world, i have scoured every thing i could find online pertaining and yours is one of the better sites. this site is a wonderful resource and well presented.i visit here many times a day. I can only imagine how much work is involved. truly thank you.

on another note I noticed that in the perfboard layout that the input just dead ends under the 4.7 capacitor intsead of joining as relflected on the pcb layout.

again thank you this site is awesome...
