Happy Fuzz Friday, everyone! Here's a very cool Big Muff variation designed by Zzoyd. Zzoyd lives in Kyiv and named the circuit after the famed fighter pilot defending the Ukrainian skies from Russian aggression. It reminds a bit of the Musket but with a 2-band EQ and a germanium pre section. Should fit nicely in a 125B.
Is there a sized transfer image available for download on this one? I'd like to try and get it etched up and verified.
ReplyDeleteIt's in the Misc folder

ReplyDeleteand you are absolutely right, somewhere in a year in America they will really begin to produce pedals with russian names, for example: 1.
DeleteGoogle translator to help you!
Liar, Liar, liar!!! The pills are coming
DeleteHi there, Zzoyd! just don't fall to their level. Sadly, lots of ppl here lost their sanity. Well.. it was kinda taken away from em meticulously. Hope you are safe and all that madness will end as soon as possible. That design sounds great btw!
Deletep.s. ill ignore any other person's hateful comments.
thanks for supporting!
DeleteRemoved Rade's comment as he never has anything useful to contribute and has been a problem/troll on this blog before. Слава Україні
DeleteГероям слава! Forgot to say, don't do too long wires from pcb to switch, or better shield them all to avoid feedback oіcillation!
DeleteScheme is here: https://imgur.com/AQQnDAD
ReplyDeleteYou are a gentleman and a scholar. Thanks so much, looking forward to building this!
Deletetry to use instead si diodes germanium like D9! This will dark but vintage sound! Volume will fall, but!
DeleteThe scheme is wrong, 2 resistors are missing, the 680k and 100k in npn germanium
DeleteOkay i can verify this one. Works well. The issue that I had was that i only had BC184LC... these did not work. Instead I used BC337 which have the same pinout as the BC184B and they worked. Not sure if the 184B (which I don't have) would be better however when I get them will give them a try. Excellent work once again. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteBC184LC & BC184b have differetn pinouts! Just reverse them!
DeleteHello, just checked the drilling template but it looks like its missing a pot hole, also in the video the switch looks like a 2 position switch, is it three? im an airline pilot so im super looking fwd into crafting this legendary box. thanks
ReplyDeletehello, switch has on off on positions. Mid - without clipping diodes!
DeleteWhy the collector of Q1 is not connected to power? what am i missing?
ReplyDeleteDarlington pair. Look at the tonebender mk3 Q1,Q2, or look at the Animato fuzz: https://imgur.com/asAZ4Xx
DeleteOhh ohhhhh its a "sziklai pair" (haha now i feel dumb...)
DeleteDo you have any recommendations for Q1&Q2?
Thank you so much for your reply and hard work
Hi guys. what transistor can replace BC184B? And what do you recommend for "low hFE NPN germ"? I'm looking for an easy to find alternative as rare transistors are hard to come by in my area. Best regards.
ReplyDeleteyou can use 2n3904, 2n 2222, bc549, for npn germanium you can take mp37, mp38 or what you want npn germanium, but you ave to know just Q1 should has lower hfe tan Q2
ReplyDeleteThanks bro :-)
Deleteoh, just have seen PNP Q2 should be reverse!!! David, please, do it!

Is this the correct position for Q2?
Does leakage matter for this circuit? Im trying to find a use for some low hfe/mid leakage germs. Thanks!
