Bomtempo

Just stumbled across this on FSB. It's a tap tempo + modulation add on for PT2399 delays designed by Electric Canary. It is digital so you'll either need to buy a pre-programed chipset or burn the code onto the chips yourself. Lots of off board wiring with this, but it's probably worth if you have a favorite PT2399 delay you want to take to the next level. Check out their site for more info, schematic and the code.

  1. Wow.... this is really big
    thanks alot for this.
The IC wont be that easy to find around here I will have to go 30km away to find out
but with this layout Can it produce IMMERSE Sounds (Electric canary)

  3. Can it just be connected directly on the pin 6?

  4. If I want to use this with Mag Echo, what components do I have to remove from your schematic?
I ask this because in bontempo docs they mention: "Make sure to omit the Delay Time Pot and any resistors connected to the PT2399 Pin6 in the delay circuit." Is that as simple as disconnecting pin6 from the board and then connecting to bontempo?

    1. Indeed it sounds as simple as this.

    2. Looking back at this now that the components I ordered are starting to arrive, for Keeley Mag Echo there is a modulation section, and the Delay time is tied to Depth (and Speed?).

With Bomtempo it seems Mag Echo modulation will not be used. Does this sound right? Should I ignore this section while building the pedal?

    3. Yes, the Bomtempo has its own modulation, so just omit the mod section of the Mag Echo

  5. i want to add LFO to this circuit. How can i add it?

    1. This already has modulation built in, so adding an LFO isn't necessary.
