Somehow I've not laid this classic out already, so here's the Ross Compressor. One of the most highly thought of (and therefore copied) compressors of all time. Should be an easy fit in a 1590B.
Very cool! Any way you could post a version that uses an LM13700? Those 3080's are getting hard to find and expensive when you do. Thanks for all the hard work!
This layout is so tight I'm not sure one of those converter boards would work here. Good to know about the Smallbear part, but I've got some LM13700 on hand...Don't get me wrong though, I'm not complaining about the awesome efforts shown on this site, it's one of may favorites. Just an idea is all it was.
I just finished this build...Oddly, my build sounds like a distortion pedal instead of a compressor, as in, if I run a clean signal in, and then turn on the pedal, I end up with distortion instead of compression. Any ideas?
I built about 15 pedals in November and said time for a break...Then I saw this, had the 3080, the 5088's and built this instead of watching the Super Bowl. It was worth it! Another great board!

ReplyDeleteSmall Bear has the real ones
DeleteI must agree. Most 3080's seem to be fakes these days.
ReplyDeleteSmall Bear has the real ones. I've bought several with no problems. Avoid ebay
DeleteActually, a lm13700 layout would be great.

The CA3080 has been reissued and are no longer hard to find, I've just bought a few from smallbear electronics.
ReplyDeleteOr you can use the converter here: http://effectslayouts.blogspot.mx/2015/11/lm13700-to-ca3080-conversion-board.html

ReplyDeleteJust put a socket in there and then you can likely fit the adapter board on top!
