The Brassmaster was originally designed for bass and also picked up by guitarists. The circuit is very unique and originals are hard to come by. I was able to lay it out to fit in a 125B with board mounted pots.
Probably a silly question cause I’m new to building but why so many switching connections for the brass? On the OG pedal i thought there were only two options for brass? Does it just mean the toggle switch for the brass is a 3PDT style switch and the harmonic is a SPDT?
Just built this and can't get it to work. Not done debugging yet though :) Just wanna ask what schematic you used for it because I am quite confused by what I see on schematics and other layouts. Also, I suppose the switch numbering is the standard 1 4 7 2 5 8 3 6 9 right?
Aloha, I built this and also used 2n2222 and mpsa13/14. I'm getting signal, a nice clean boost, but no effect.Anything I could've missed? Q2-Q5 seem to have no affect no matter what what transistor is there or not. Q1,Q6,Q7 affect the signal. Thanks in advance to any help.
Same thing happened to me with 2N2222. I replace them with BC550 (rotate 180° https://www.inventable.eu/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/pins_BC548_2N2222.png)
I used 2N2222A transistors from STMicroelectronics - SGS THOMSON/CDIL (bought through Tayda website April 2021), and 2N5308 for Q5 (had to switch lead orientation). It works! Loud and lots of fuzz, lots of variation between settings. I've never used an original, but this version sounds awesome with my Fender Jazz bass. Thanks Effects Layouts!

You're both correct, Zzoyd you've just rotated the switch 90 degrees. lol If in doubt, refer to the general layout notes and the diagram that's there.
