Pots are board mounted and I added a extra diode in the feedback loop for asymmetrical clipping if you want to go that route. Original schematic and article can be found here.

If you want to have symmetrical clipping, populate the diodes like this:

  1. If I wanted to make a switch for symmetrical/asymmetrical, could I just connect pads E2/E3 to the lugs of a SPST switch? That would effectively remove the third diode from the circuit right?

    1. Neither. The differences between the 808 and the 9 are in the output buffer (which has been removed here).

  3. Symmetrical clipping sounds best to my ear, and also replace 220nF with 100nF for a brighter tone. Simple yet great sounded OD. Awesome!
