Roger Mayer Voodoo-Bass

Got a request for this one. It's the bass version of the Voodoo distortion. It's a very popular bass effect, especially in Japan apparently, but also sounds great with guitar too. A transistor stage at the input pushes a Rat-like LM308 distortion section, followed by a Big Muff-style tone stack and a simple output buffer. Here's the schematic.

    just like the RAT, can i replace the IC for LM741? and remove 22Pf??

    Its ok if I replace the BC549C for BC548?

      I don't think the 548 is low noise like 549. You could probably get away with some other high gain, low noise NPN though (2N5088, MPSA18, BC550, etc).
