Yesterday, Ronaldo commented on the Power Brick post pleading for a voltage doubler using the 555 chip. Well, since it sounded like it was an emergency, here you go. ;) D1-2 should be barrier Schottky diodes and don't forget the jumper under the IC.
TO use in circuits that require 18v, this pump will get close to that (~17v) if you feed it 9v, it can be used in almost every overdrive or distortion, will increase headroom.
Very nice!!!
ReplyDeleteMuchisimas Gracias!!!! saludos desde Argentina ;)
ReplyDeletethank you very much!!!!
you save me, again
¡De nada! Happy to help you out.
DeleteDejate de romperle los huevos al pobre flaco, Ron; a ver cuando nos juntamos a tomar una birra
DeleteI got one question, where are the utility archives?, all of them
ReplyDeletethere are not in the TRANSFER IMAGE LIBRARY link
They're in the Misc folder.
Deletewhat a blind...
Deletethanks!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteYou would know what is the maximum current supplied by the "charge pump"
DeleteIt should get you close to 18v, though probably close to 17.
DeleteDo you know how much Current in mA?.Thanks!
Deletearound 30ma
DeleteVerified. Used 1n5817s. 9.27volts in 17.8 volts out.
ReplyDeleteCool. Thanks for verifying!
DeleteTy very much. Working with 1n4004 diodes. I had problems with used (salvage part) 555, but, with new ne555 works like it should.
ReplyDeleteWill it work with 4.5v to 9v?
ReplyDeleteI think that would depend on operating voltage range on your 555 chips. Check the data sheet.
DeleteI can't find the transfer in the misc. folder. Is this in another folder?
ReplyDeleteIt's in the Utilities folder
DeleteHi there, what is exactly use of this unit?
ReplyDeleteThanks

ReplyDeletecan i use 16v electrolytics here if i want to make a 9v to 18v?
ReplyDeleteNo. Use higher rated caps that the voltage. 25v would be the minimum.
DeleteWork!!!
ReplyDeleteVery good with OCD v1!!!
Thanks!
Is there a power brick whcih takes 1 9v
ReplyDeleteAnd comes out as multi -9v ??
Maybe a charger with eliminates noise and hums
And thanku for posting these im learning a lot about electronics from u and this blog
use 7909 circuit on google, regulator negative voltage.
DeleteCan i use this instead of max1044?
