Colorsound 3-Knob ToneBender Reissue

I was trolling Google Images the other night looking for schematics and I stumbled across this. I think the only thing this reissue has in common with an original is the enclosure and graphics. It uses a single opamp with soft clipping and a Big Muff-style tone stack. If you use 9mm pots you could probably cram it into a 1590A.

  1. Build this. It works, but volume not even loud. I decided to cut off tonestack. It adds volume and fuzziness to pedal.

  2. I built this today and the same problem happened as the friend above. But, I changed both resistors from 2k2 to 33k and voilĂ : The tone pot works perfectly! Changing the 100k before 4148's to 220k gives me more fuzz and more loudness! Man, I'm in love with this pedal! Well, verified too!

    1. I saw in this configuration of tone, using 2.2k and 4.7nF you get a highpass frequent of 15.3KHz and using a 2.2k and 10nF you get a lowpass frequency of 7.2 KHz, and it is a mistake, becaus It will turn down the guitar volume. Using a 33k resistor instead a 2.2k resistor, you can get a lowpass frequency of 482Hz and highpass frequency of 1K. but I Will build my project using a 33K resistor and a 6.8nF instead 4.7nF to get a 708Hz of frequency. I believe it will woks well.

  4. I built the pedal, It is working but I did a some mods:
    I'm using a 10k linear pot to gain (25k was low gain and low volume and the pedal gain only increases next to full potentiometer);
    Invert 470r and 1uF to turn the pedal a full high-pass filter and change a 100k side a diode by 220-330k with a more bright in louder gain;

    changing the two 2.2k on tone control by 33k, to get a right frequency cut I'm using 6.8nF in place of 10nF to get more mids ( 709hz instead 482Hz)
