Here's an op-amp based boost circuit from Jack Deville (Mr. Black Effects). He was kind enough to share his schematic a couple years ago on FSB. I stumbled upon it and thought it would be a good addition here. It should easily fit in a 1590a, and you can probably board mount the pot too.
Yes you can change both 51k resistors to 47k. Those two resistors are forming voltage reference (4.5v), so as long as they're both the same value it should work. Anything between 10k and 1M does the trick.
I made it, with de 47k resistors and a 4558D. It sounds, but incredibly loud, and the potenciometer seems to have no effect on the volume. I checked the diagram and all is ok. Do you have any idea? Thanks!
I builded this pedal and works fine, thank for effectslayouts.blogspot.com.br!!!
ReplyDeleteSir what is "1-boost-3" in the diagram? Log of pot number 1 and 3? How about log 2?
ReplyDeleteThe pad for lug 2 would be that pad right between the ones for 1 and 3.
DeleteOk thanks sir :)
DeleteLow pas filter & bass boost?
ReplyDeleteOnly Bass Boost?
can i use 4558D ic for that ??
ReplyDeleteyes
DeleteDone, and great sound with a lot of volume. Thanks for the layout
ReplyDeleteAn amazing pedal ... great sound, and with my triple wreck wampler clone it's wonderful. thanks again for this beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteHi! Can I change the 51K resistor to a 47k one? I can't find one of 51k...
