Free the Tone HB-2 Heat Blaster

Got a request for this one. Basically a Tube Screamer with a few mods and some extra switches to cut highs and lows. The original has 2SC185 transistors, which have BCE pinout. I've laid this out for the more typical CBE pinout. Like you would in a Tube Screamer, try 2N3904, 2N5088, etc for the input and output buffers.

    the two component layouts are different and there must be some sort of error. the perf one has a 510K connected to pin 3 on the chip and the one on the right has a 10K. which one is right? in other words they have the 510K and 10K resistors reversed from each other.

      Thanks for pointing that out, John. The resistor off pin 3 to the VR should be 510k. Updated the layout image to reflect that.

    i built it and it doesn't work and i just noticed that the Vref circuit has an error. it's missing a 10K resistor from the 9V supply to the 10K that goes to ground for the 4.5V. i added one on the bottom of my board and it works perfectly now.

      Thanks for the report. Added in a 10k so the layout should be good now. Sorry about all the boo boos. Must have been a bad day for brain farts. haha

    Hello! Can you tell me what is the function of the 3mm red diodes?
    On the other hand, the blue, red, green, orange track colors ... what do they represent? voltage?

    Hi everybody
    I build the pcb Version, and the one 510k resistor ( near the bottom of the Board) is placed a little bit strange? I Had to drill a new hole. ( maby because of the corrections ) but all the other parts are placed just fine, and it Works Great!!
