Here's quick on for your Friday. The Luxury Drive is a simple JFET boost circuit and is the same as the boost section of T Jauernig's Gristle King. J201s should also work just fine.
I built this and it has an awful lot of breakup. I repaired my buddy's Luxury Drive and I don't recall it being so dirty. Mine almost sounds a bit like a voltage starve. Any thoughts?
I'm bringing this up again because I can't find the original schematic for T. Jauernig's Luxury Drive. Tim wrote that the transistor is a 2N3700 and the collector resistor is 10K, and that he never used JFET for the LD, but he didn't provide any further information. This design you posted is not the Luxury Drive: Can you provide a design with the original schematic with the 2N3700 NPN transistor? Thanks
Where should i wire OUT?
ReplyDeleteThe center lug of the pot
Deleteit is verified, but is just too weak of a booster. pot on max is near unity.

ReplyDeleteSounds like it's not biasing right. Adjust the 10k resistor going to the drain of the JFET.
