The Run Off Groove Azabache has a similar cap on a switch. If you leave the cap out, you will get a sound that is still thin but more balanced. Alternatively, you could try a larger cap to increase the frequency range of the boost.

I also found that you can use a regular high-gain BJT in place of the Darlington for a less fizzy sound without a noticeable sacrifice in gain.JDThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04252685794749449237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5481402030233340127.post-85690166417115971552021-10-24T01:37:06.913-04:002021-10-24T01:37:06.913-04:00Verified.

It works well for edgy, cutting chords, but like Fredrik says, it's a bit too thin. The sample clip gives a good idea of the sound.JDThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04252685794749449237noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5481402030233340127.post-84178106243513865932016-11-15T16:14:27.849-05:002016-11-15T16:14:27.849-05:00
